Advocacy

We are advocating for the rivers of the Richmond catchment - placing the rivers at the centre of the conversation.

We actively advocate for:

  • Coordinated investment

  • Improved governance

  • Urgent action to improve the health of the rivers and catchment

We do this work alongside a network of partners, Government and non-government stakeholders.

We are joining a global movement, to make a local impact.

Joining with Riverkeepers across the globe, we have a vision for the rivers of the Richmond River catchment to be healthy once more. This is a big vision and we are setting up our foundations to ensure we are in this for the long term. Our work is centered around Advocacy, Community, Knowledge Sharing, and Collaboration.

Since we formed as an organisation in April 2022, we have met with other Riverkeepers learning from their approach both in Australia and overseas, convened a local Riverkeeper forum bringing together respected river Custodians, deep thinkers and doers.

We have held a series of Riveryarns in Lismore and Kyogle, and embarked on a series of research projects. With the help of community and our partners, we have much more work to do to give the rivers of the Richmond catchment a voice!
